Job Title: River Conservation Specialist

The River Conservation Specialist will play a key role in promoting conservation efforts and environmental stewardship within our community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with landowners, farmers, and stakeholders to promote conservation efforts and environmental stewardship
  • Conduct environmental surveys to assess habitat quality, water quality, biodiversity, and ecological impact
  • Create quotation/tender documentation for environmental surveys, management plans and site works
  • Create designs and plans to deliver restoration or habitat improvement projects
  • Coordinate and oversee practical site improvement work, including riparian habitat restoration, invasive species control, and sustainable land-use practices
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of environmental projects, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and funding requirements
  • Provide technical advice and guidance on land management practices to enhance biodiversity, water quality and ecosystem resilience
  • Work with volunteers, contractors, and partner organizations to deliver conservation projects

We are seeking an individual who can engage with local communities, develop a volunteer network, and provide technical advice on land management practices.

Requirements:
  • Strong communication skills, able to present information both orally and in writing
  • Ability to represent the organization at meetings and events
  • Knowledge of environmental surveying and land management practices
  • Experience working with volunteers, contractors, and partner organizations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
