Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hydrologist / Hydraulic Modeller to undertake water resource management, hydrological and hydraulic modelling, drainage and flood mitigation, and climate impact assessment projects.

About the Role
  • Deliver high-quality results in water resource management, hydrological and hydraulic modelling, drainage and flood mitigation, and climate impact assessment projects.
  • Manage projects efficiently, maintain client relationships, assist with winning new business within the water environment team.
  • Provide technical guidance, support, and training to junior colleagues, assisting in the mentoring and development of others.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Hydraulic and hydrological modelling using software such as Flood Modeller-TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, MIKE FLOOD, and Info Works ICM.
  • Flood risk assessments, including preparation of Flood Risk Assessments and completion of fluvial, pluvial, and tidal hydraulic modelling projects.
  • Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) principles and design, including green-blue infrastructure planning.
  • Hydrological modelling through the application of the FEH methods to estimate peak river flows and flood hydrographs.
  • Working with hydrometric data, analysis of gauging station flow and level records, interpretation, and development of ratings curves for gauging stations.
  • Calibration of rainfall-runoff models to match observed rainfall data to gauged flow data low-flow studies/drought assessments.
