Job Description

The Principal Data Scientist will serve as a senior technical leader, driving innovation in analytics, infrastructure, and product development.

  • This role requires a blend of data science expertise, predictive modelling, and cloud infrastructure knowledge.
  • The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of insurance practices, particularly in pricing, underwriting, and fraud detection.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead and contribute to high-impact projects across analytics, infrastructure, and product development.
  • Explore and adapt AI solutions to enhance business outcomes.
  • Build and deploy scalable machine learning workflows and data products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support cloud migration and infrastructure design.
  • Work with structured and unstructured data, including telematics, to generate insights and improve products.
  • Develop predictive models and support benchmarking initiatives.
  • Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Mentor colleagues and promote a culture of learning and inclusion.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Experience in data science, analytics, or a related field (academic or professional).
  • Proficiency in Python or R, SQL, and data processing tools.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (especially Azure), distributed computing (e.g. Spark), and MLOps practices.
  • Ability to design and maintain data pipelines and work with diverse data formats.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • A commitment to inclusive, ethical, and explainable AI practices.
