Quality Assurance and Technical Management Professional

This role involves leading and managing QA & Technical teams to ensure product packaging and distribution are compliant and lawful. Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality certifications, and legislative requirements is a key responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage QA & Technical teams to ensure product packaging and distribution are compliant and lawful.
  • Ensure the maintenance of grade AA BRC accreditation, Organic Trust, Global Gap Supply Chain certification, and Fairtrade Standards.
  • Prepare for and lead external audits, including those by HSE, DAFM, and BRCGS, regarding food safety, authenticity, and health issues.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure compliance with legislative, customer, and BRCGS requirements.
  • Develop and implement Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in risk assessments, accident investigations, and provision of safety training to site personnel.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and management of HACCP systems and ensure documentation is up-to-date.
  • Train and mentor staff on food safety procedures, including HACCP, food hygiene, and labelling.
  • Respond to food safety alerts and emergencies, assessing risks, mitigating, and reporting them appropriately.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years experience in Quality Assurance Management, preferably in a similar fresh produce industry or food manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of ensuring compliance with relevant food safety regulations, industry standards, and quality certifications (e.g., HACCP, BRC).
  • Experience in conducting internal and external audits to assess and maintain quality standards.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing a team of quality assurance professionals.
  • Experience in motivating and empowering team members to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Experience in collaborating with suppliers to ensure quality compliance, managing supplier performance, and driving continuous improvement in the supply chain.
