Job Role Overview

The primary function of this role is to provide contractual support across various transactions, ensuring seamless collaboration with legal teams and deal counterparts. Key responsibilities include coordinating the negotiation and resolution of closing matters, preparing closing checklists, and tracking time-sensitive deadlines.


Main Responsibilities

  • Work closely with both in-house attorneys and outside counsel on all documentary aspects of transactions, including data room preparation for sales transactions.
  • Serve as a key contact for deal counterparties, law firms, and airlines on transaction closing matters, ensuring timely execution.
  • Support initiatives to accelerate transaction pace, monitoring time requirements for each step and reminding the deal team of approaching deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate records of pre-delivery events and closing activities, utilizing the company's systems to ensure efficient execution.
  • Manage exchange and review of closing deliverables with sellers, purchasers, lenders, and lessees, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Collect, manage, and store original transaction documents in an appropriate location, maintaining organized filing systems.
  • Assist in closing transactions by preparing corporate approvals and arranging for signature page execution.
  • Ensure complete and accurate closing sets for each transaction are filed in the designated electronic folders under correct naming conventions.
  • Support special projects assigned by the Chief Legal Officer and Senior Vice President, Contracts, contributing to process improvements and cost savings initiatives.
  • Act as a liaison between departments, facilitating communication and collaboration.
  • Provide regular status updates on contracts and transactions to the Legal Team and other departments, keeping the wider organization informed about material transactions.
  • Respond to customer and lender inquiries regarding lease and loan administration, offering expert guidance and support.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on process enhancements, cost-saving measures, team training, and mentoring junior team members.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • A degree in Law, Business, or a related field, with a master's degree being advantageous.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in aviation financing, preferably in a Contracts Manager or similar role.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to delegate tasks, prioritize efforts, and resolve complex issues.
  • Fluent English language proficiency, with additional languages being an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Numerate and diligent, with a strong attention to critical issues.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with Leaseworks or similar systems is beneficial.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel, if necessary.
