Occupational Therapist Role in Mental Health Acute Unit

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team working in an acute mental health setting. The successful candidate will provide high-quality occupational therapy assessment and intervention to service users, contributing to service development, supervising staff, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

The Adult Occupational Therapy Service provides services to various clinical areas including community mental health teams, community rehabilitation teams, psychiatry of later life teams, and more. Key responsibilities include providing comprehensive OT assessments, managing caseloads, and implementing treatment programs according to service standards.

In this role, you will work closely with the occupational therapist manager to lead service planning, supervise and support staff, and contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the OT service within the approved centre. You will also engage in service meetings, care planning, and multidisciplinary case discussions, operating within the scope of occupational therapy practice in Ireland.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • ">
  • BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy">
  • CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist">
  • Minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience as an OT">
  • Previous experience in mental health desirable">
  • HSE mandatory training completed (or willingness to complete before starting)">
