Key Retail Position

This critical role is a cornerstone in our successful food retail group, with numerous stores across Munster. Our organization has an excellent reputation within the community, long-standing teams, and a strong track record of promoting and advancing management teams.

We are seeking an experienced retail professional to join one of our convenience retail stores in Cork, a 15-minute drive west of Ballincollig. As a senior team member, you will be responsible for overseeing store operations, including personnel management, maintaining shop standards, and commercial control.

This retail opportunity offers autonomy and the chance to put your own stamp on the shop, with the potential to develop and advance to Store Manager within two years. You will work in a scenic location, a rural passing village with one shop in the town.

  • Support manager to achieve sales and profit targets
  • Provide high level of customer service
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures
  • Manage stock and cash control procedures, investigating and reporting variances
  • Be creative and innovative by studying and implementing advertising, sales promotion, and display plans
  • Maintain store staff by recruiting, selecting, and training new staff, in conjunction with the HR department
  • Organize special promotions, displays, and events
  • Deal with customer queries and complaints as per company policies

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 2+ years of retail management experience, ideally within an environment with fresh foods
  • Some experience using Retail IT systems to understand stock and sales trends
  • People skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team
  • The ability to work in high-pressure situations
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic with a high level of confidence
  • A strong work ethic
