Job Summary

The Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA) seeks a seasoned Director of Finance, Legal and Corporate Affairs to join its leadership team. As a key member, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation's financial, legal and corporate strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organisational standards for Financial, Legal and Corporate activities.
  • Develop and lead the organisations financial strategy, planning and performance.
  • Manage financial risk, forecasting, procurement policy and cost control mechanisms to ensure long-term financial sustainability.
  • Oversee the HPRA's funding structure to ensure adequate revenue to fund current and capital expenditure requirements.
  • Lead and manage the Legal section to provide timely and accurate legal advice to the leadership team and across the organisation.
  • Contribute to the drafting and implementation of new legislation, ensuring regulatory alignment and clarity.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with relevant bodies and stakeholders.
  • Drive quality improvement by reviewing processes and implementing efficiencies.
  • Promote a culture of excellence, valuing ongoing professional development across all sections.
Requirements
  • A relevant professional accounting qualification with minimum 8 years' post-qualification experience as a Qualified Accountant.
  • Minimum 5 years' Senior Leadership/Management experience in a similar role, with a track record of delivering on business objectives and advising on financial and legal issues.
  • In-depth knowledge of public sector financial management policies and guidelines.
  • Experience managing legal, statutory and regulatory compliance obligations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with senior stakeholders, representing an organisational position and negotiating effectively.
  • Significant experience in leading and motivating large, high-performing teams, enhancing best-practice culture.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability, evaluation of risk, and adaptability in changing conditions.
  • Proven ability to connect with leadership teams, influence decisions, and drive results.
  • Adept in strategy development and implementation, with experience executing change management programmes.
