Project Director Role">

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Director to lead the management and oversight of major construction contracts valued over £60m. Reporting to the Regional Director, this key role is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of complex projects within budget and timeframe.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the tender team, comprising estimators, construction managers, quantity surveyors, and external consultants, to ensure competitiveness and compliance.
  • Manage tender production, prepare program, method statements, preliminary estimates, and submission documents, and chair start-up meetings.
  • Develop procurement strategies, prequalify key supply chain partners, and prepare preliminary risk registers and manage project risks.
  • Coordinate with quantity surveyors to prepare procurement schedules, ensure health, safety, and environmental plans are in place, and agree on site layout and logistics.

Construction Phase:

  • Arrange start-up meetings, manage Pre-Execution Plan (PEP) preparation, coordinate contract document completion, and project initiation.
  • Ensure quality, environmental standards, and progress are maintained, manage subcontractors and suppliers, including vetting and meetings, and oversee resource management.
  • Lead internal and subcontractor meetings, manage preliminary estimates, applications for extensions, and constructability reviews.
  • Monitor progress, costs, risks, and administrative procedures, drive safety, quality, and client communication, including legal and technical issues.

Post-Construction Phase:

  • Ensure customer-centric aftercare, support final account preparations, gather client references, and maintain contractual relationships.

The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of experience in construction, with similar organizations, and possess a deep understanding of market, finance, construction techniques, and safety regulations.

Proficiency in planning, commercial management, and key account management is also essential. Industry-related management qualifications and membership of professional institutions are preferred.
