Church and Community Fundraising Officer - Munster (24 month contract) Working with churches and supporters, you will be a passionate fundraiser motivated by your faith to address global poverty. Salary: €43,898 plus pension contributions and other generous benefitsFixed term 2 years with possibility of extensionThis role is for someone who is passionate about ending global poverty and equipping churches and communities to take action in response to inequality and injustice. You will be an experienced fundraiser, motivated by your faith. You will need to have a proven ability to fundraise, to be well organised and self-motivated with great attention to detail. You will be a confident public speaker and networker who will inspire individuals and churches to take action.This post is subject to a Genuine Occupational Requirement that the post holder is a Christian under the Equality Act 2004, Section 25. Role purposeChristian Aid Ireland’s Fundraising and Supporter Engagement Team works on an all-island basis, to build a movement of individuals, churches, coalitions and other organisations to work with us for the world we want to see.This role is part of the Church and Community team (a sub-division of the Fundraising and Supporter Engagement Team) and plays a vital role in stewarding, inspiring and engaging churches, Christian Aid groups and key individuals in order to increase engagement through giving, fundraising, acting and praying – and as a result growing support for Christian Aid’s work around the world. The majority of these supporters belong to Christian Aid’s 7 sponsoring church denominations. This post will ensure that Christian Aid Ireland’s volunteers, organisers, fundraisers specifically across the Province of Munster are inspired, empowered and equipped to take action on behalf of those we seek to serve around the world. The role will help to deliver this by building and strengthening relationships with a large portfolio of key church fundraising volunteers and stewarding them through their supporter journey with Christian Aid. This stewardship will result in meeting targets for income, speaking engagements and relationship building.This role is based in the province of Munster and is part of the Church and Community Team, managed by the Church and Community Manager. It will involve travel for face-to-face meetings and speaking engagements in churches. Hybrid working arrangements are available.Applied skills/knowledge and expertiseEssentialRelevant degree or 3-4 years equivalent working experienceKnowledge, understanding and commitment to work with the range of Christian Aid’s sponsoring churches in Ireland.Experience of fundraising or marketing, with proven ability to analyse associated data and meet targets.Proven ability to build relationships in order to motivate response and action, working effectively with a wide range of people including volunteers, clergy and colleagues.Excellent interpersonal, communication, networking and presentation skills.Exemplary organisational skills with an ability to prioritise and organise own workload, using own initiative and seeking support when required.Confident to deliver presentations highlighting Christian Aid’s work, including sermons and children’s addresses in churches, and facilitating sessions for church and community groups.Experience of using Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word.Ability to drive to engagements across IrelandAbility to work evenings and weekends regularlyDesirableKnowledge of global development issuesExperience of supervising volunteersExperience of using a relational databaseExperience of church-based fundraisingThis post is subject to a Genuine Occupational Requirement that the post holder is a Christian under the Equality Act 2004, Section 25.
