Job Description

Tasks and Duties

Book vendor invoices Match amounts in proprietary A/P system to vendor invoices Prepare and issue schedules of payments Update vendor statements Reconcile and resolve problem invoices Build key relationships with vendors in order to quickly resolve invoice issues File invoices, statements and any accounting related documents when necessary Manage bank reconciliations on Daily, Weekly and monthly basis. Support assistant controller with exception reports to identify and resolve various accounting issues Support Accounting Department with miscellaneous projects and assignments Ensure communication with local branches

Physical Demands

Use of standard office equipment - computer with keyboard and mouse, phone, fax/copy/scan machine, etc. Write with pencil/pen/marker  Functions performed primarily while seated at desk

Accounting Agent Job-Specific Performance Expectations

Timely and Accurate Accounting Processing

Manages the accounts payables processes, including setting up service provider accounts, receive, review, approve and records payables accurately and timely, as per Expeditors' accounting policies. Manages the disbursement process to ensure service providers are paid accurately and timely.

Accounting Exception Management

Proactively monitors exception reports to identify problems on accounts, analyze exceptions and to effectively resolve issues with internal and external

Qualifications

Minimum two years of relevant experience in Public Accounting and/or industry Technically proficient and have strong accounting, analytical, financial modeling, and research skills Excellent organization skills and detailed-oriented Motivated self-starter and work with urgency Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment Proficient in MS Office applications (specifically Excel), Excellent written and oral English communication skills Ability to accept and implement change as it occurs Strive for continuous improvement – create best practices
