The organisation is developing a second sustainability standard for textiles. We are committed to promoting sustainability, quality, and ethical practices across the textile supply chain.
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Implementation Specialist as part of the Global Standard’s Standard Development Unit to play a key role in formulating, revising, and implementing certification policies and procedures to ensure compliance with sustainability standards. This remote position offers the flexibility of working from home and requires a self-motivated individual who excels in proactively collaborating with a diverse, global team.
We seek a proactive candidate who values the freedom to operate autonomously and has relevant experience with Voluntary Sustainability Standards (VSS) and/or certification bodies, as well as strong coordination skills across various stakeholders including internal teams and external Certification Bodies, to drive the adoption of standards and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Policies, Procedure Development and Implementation: Coordinate and lead the development, timely review, revision, and implementation of certification policies and procedures, in accordance with Standard Requirements such as:
- Certification requirements and procedures
- Scope and Transaction Certificates
- Letters of Approval
- Labelling and Claims
- Operational procedures and guidelines for certification bodies
Qualifications:
- Completed formal studies (ideally in the textile field) with proven hands-on competence in the textile industry.
- Direct hands-on experience working with policies, procedure development, and implementation of Voluntary Sustainability Standards (VSS) - ideally within a certification system or an implementing certification body - is essential.
- Competency in project management with the proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse global teams and stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with hands-on experience in formal correspondence.
- Familiarity with sustainability standards and certification processes. Knowledge of the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and its requirements is an advantage.
- Proven ability to navigate complex regulatory policies and procedure frameworks.
Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with Office 365 tools, including Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, for effective documentation and communication.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong relationship-building skills with both internal teams and external partners.
- Comfortable in a remote working environment, self-motivated, and capable of managing time effectively.
