Position Overview:As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and capitalising on opportunities for Site Positioning Systems within the Construction and Civils Industry. In this role, you will collaborate with your team to create, communicate, and implement a comprehensive growth strategy for our end-to-end services and solutions. These include equipment sales, parts, service, on/off board machine technologies, and consulting services.

You will manage key Trimble Corporate and SITECH strategic accounts, fostering strong relationships with project owners, consultants, leading construction organisations, and their supply networks. Additionally, you will work closely with various Finning business units, as well as with Caterpillar, Cat Finance, and SITECH, to ensure accountability and support in executing our strategic initiatives.

Job Description:

Major Job Functions:

  • Support with the development, communication, and execution of a business strategy aimed at building a pipeline encompassing all opportunities, risks, and rewards of the projects with a focus on the strategically important. These plans should include defined targets, be results-oriented, KPI-driven, and deliver profitable growth for the company.

  • Understand the overall industry and the competitive landscape (existing, new, emerging), key organisations and specific project drivers, objectives and issues. Utilising the SITECH UK&I and Trimble enterprise, align existing or collaborate with the other business units to develop new market-leading solutions and present compelling propositions with a seamless, integrated approach that delivers both direct and indirect profitable sales growth.

  • Working with the team, take accountability for managing the opportunity pipeline from end to end. Maximise the opportunity throughout the project supply/value chain. Set ambitious yet achievable targets and provide timely project forecasts at a unit, revenue and margin level to feed into annual operating plans, S&OP cycles and project delivery targets.

  • As the business development lead, using effective communication, gain advocacy in positioning the role as the owner of the front-line customer relationship. Work with our strategic partners and across the organisation to drive accountability within the teams in order to influence successful outcomes and maximise the customer experience.

  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships with named corporate/strategic accounts and within organisations connected to targeted projects. Be a strong ambassador for the SITECH UK&I and Trimble business, accessing all levels of the customers' organisation and leveraging the internal SITECH business to support the delivery of strong relationships.

Education & Experience:

  • >5 years’ national/corporate account or business development experience with Global organisations.

  • Regional management, sales management or business development experience within infrastructure or construction projects.

  • A well-documented history of building go-to-market strategies and individual account and project plans and successful delivery of those strategies.

  • Working for or with a global OEM, manufacturer or distributor.

  • Dealer operational and service support knowledge.

  • Capital asset financing.

  • Experience working within a matrix organisation.
