What is the opportunity?

The position is a Test Analyst role working with a team of testing analysts, developers, business analysts and product specialists. The main responsibility for the successful candidate will be to drive out the testing process through the development and execution of manual and automated test scenarios. You will help prioritise defects and issues to be fixed, using an understanding of the business requirements and the needs of the customer. The transformation programme is one of our key enablers for delivering our New Ireland Company strategy. There are a number of projects being delivered with key strategic objectives across new and existing platforms.

In this role you will:
  • Identify and analyse opportunities for test automation
  • Implement automation frameworks and approaches
  • Take responsibility for the creation of test cases using own in-depth technical analysis of both functional and non-functional specifications (such as reliability, efficiency, usability, maintainability and portability)
  • Lead and produces test scripts, materials and regression test packs to test new and amended software or services
  • Establish and evolve formal QA processes, ensuring that the team is using best practices
  • Be responsible for all aspects of quality assurance including establishing metrics, and developing new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met
  • Record and analyses actions and results and maintains a defect register
  • Review test results and modify test, if necessary
  • Provide reports on progress, anomalies, risks and issues associated with the overall project

What will make you stand out?

  • 3-5 years' experience as a Test Analyst
  • An ability to deliver quality work to our standards and procedures
  • Good communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Secure API testing experience
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Experience with test automation tools and libraries
  • Designing automation scripts/frameworks and finding solutions for automation problems
  • Demonstrate ability to work on own initiative and to be self-sufficient
  • Ability to relate to business community and translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Ability to demonstrate ownership for work with detailed follow through to conclusion along with flexibility and a quality focus
  • Certifications in application delivery or modern software development and quality practices such as Agile, Product Management, and Quality Assurance are desired
  • Acting ethically and with integrity
Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • IT qualification
  • A sound knowledge of financial services sector
  • Previous experience as a test automation engineer would be advantage
  • Experience delivering to tight project timescales
  • ISEB qualification/certification in a formal Test or Quality methodology

This role sits within Ops and Core Technology team and you will work closely with a team of business analysts, developers, project managers, subject matter experts and product specialists based in New Ireland Assurance.
