Role OverviewWe are seeking a Player Manager to lead, motivate, and grow our high-performing sales team. In this role, you will be both a hands-on seller and a team leader, driving the acquisition of brands and agencies of all sizes while managing the performance, development, and output of your sales team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in the fast-paced world of marketplaces and SaaS, and who understands how to engage decision-makers in marketing, sponsorship, and brand partnerships.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, coach, and inspire a team of sales professionals to meet and exceed revenue targets.
- Actively manage your own sales pipeline - from prospecting to closing - focusing on onboarding new brands and agencies.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to grow subscriptions, increase deal commissions, and secure management fee opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with marketing leaders, sponsorship teams, and agency decision-makers.
- Monitor and report on team performance, ensuring accountability and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with marketing, product, and operations teams to optimise the customer journey and maximise client lifetime value.
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities in sports marketing and digital marketplaces.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of B2B sales experience with at least 2 years in a sales management role
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and managing successful sales teams
- Experience selling to brands, agencies, and marketing decision-makers
- Strong understanding of digital marketing, influencer marketing, and sports marketing landscapes
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Data-driven approach with proficiency in CRM systems and sales analytics tools
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
Beneficial Qualifications
- Prior experience with marketplace businesses and/or SaaS platforms
- Fluency in additional European languages (German, French, Spanish, Italian)
- Experience in sports marketing, talent management, or influencer marketing
- Network of contacts within brand marketing, advertising agencies, or sports industry
- Flexible location and working arrangements.
