Vacancy: Purchasing Administrator
An established and growing organisation within the plumbing, heating, and building supplies sector is seeking a Purchasing Administrator to join its expanding Purchasing Team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual to work in a dynamic environment with strong career progression potential.
Responsibilities- Work within an experienced Purchasing Department
- Raise supplier purchase orders
- Provide administrative support in maintaining purchasing/supplier files & business terms
- Ensure product database is accurate and up to date with PO due dates, pricing, and shipping lists
- Collaborate with the Logistics Department to manage urgent demands, arrange collections & deliveries (local & international), book international transport, and ensure all shipping & freight documentation is accurate & compliant
- Source cost-effective and competitive freight services that meet required deadlines
- Manage purchase order requirement forecasts
- Support stock management processes to achieve stock targets and meet customer demand
- Process goods receipts and investigate supplier account queries
- Create stock and supplier reports
- Follow up on outstanding purchase orders
- Manage urgent stock demands
- Coordinate the 'Return to Vendor' process
- Participate in monthly stock meetings with management
- A third-level qualification, preferably in Purchasing or Business
- Some experience in a busy purchasing environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- A confident, professional manner and excellent telephone skills
- A team-oriented approach with strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- A desire to learn about products, systems, and customers
- Initiative and the ability to make informed decisions
- Willingness to travel occasionally (nationally & internationally)
