Python Infrastructure Developer

Are you a systems-minded software engineer with a passion for automation, deep technical ownership, and building developer-centric tools? We're looking for a Python Infrastructure Developer to join a high-impact team shaping the foundations of platform engineering and automation at scale.

This role is part of a global infrastructure engineering team working across the stack, from low-level orchestration to backend APIs and event-driven systems. You'll focus on designing and developing self-service tools and highly reliable infrastructure systems that enable internal engineering teams to move faster, safer, and more autonomously.

The environment is dynamic and engineering-led, where curiosity, pragmatism, and clean design are deeply valued. You'll have wide access and ownership to improve core systems, reduce operational toil, and solve meaningful platform problems — not tickets.

What You'll Do

  • Design and build infrastructure automation systems end-to-end, with a strong emphasis on reusability and scalability.
  • Develop backend APIs, CLIs, and Python packages that enable self-service and improve the developer experience.
  • Implement orchestration layers on top of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, SaltStack, or Ansible.
  • Own the lifecycle of infrastructure systems, from development and testing to deployment and long-term maintenance.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows.
  • Conduct thoughtful code reviews and uphold engineering best practices.
  • Collaborate asynchronously with a globally distributed team while maintaining strong technical alignment.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to reduce friction and drive automation in infrastructure workflows.

What You Bring

  • Strong background as an Infrastructure Developer, Systems Engineer, or Software Engineer focused on automation and backend tooling.
  • Expertise in Python and its application in infrastructure and systems programming.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible, SaltStack, or Terraform.
  • Proven ability to design and build backend services, APIs, and event-driven systems.
  • Experience with distributed system architecture and operating at scale.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tooling (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Clear communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to both developers and stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and a mindset geared toward quality, resilience, and continuous improvement.
  • Natural curiosity and drive to explore emerging technologies and adopt the best tool for the job.
