INTERNAL & EXTERNAL COMPETITION Ref No: 2025/34 Grade V Patient Accounts Permanent & Full-Time (35 hours per week) Finance Department We are currently looking to hire a Grade V Officer to join our Finance team here in the Rotunda.The successful candidate will be working alongside a team of dedicated Finance professionals in a collaborative, collegial and learning environment. Based in the city centre and on the grounds of the oldest continuously operating maternity hospital in the world, you will have the opportunity to work with colleagues across all professional disciplines and become part of the Rotunda family. The post holder is a key resource and support to the Finance Department in managing the delivery and maintenance of the accounts receivable function, working closely with our Private and Semi-Private Clinics. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Ensuring Private and Semi-Private Patients are fully informed in writing of costs associated with in-patient admission and associated consultant fees. Ensuring all PMI policies are reviewed to identify shortfall in coverage and to identify Semi-Private Patients who are insured fully for single rooms. Responsibility for informing patients of any shortfall in coverage prior to admission. Responsibility for informing non-insured cash paying Obstetrics and Gynaecology patients of costs during their out-patient visits and collection of accommodation fees for these patients prior to admission. Be a point of contact for Private and Semi-Private Patients to discuss costs and/or bed allocation issues. To identify patients not fully insured for single rooms, who have not requested such in writing so that they can either request that room in writing or be only accommodated in multi-occupancy wards. Be a point of contact for Private and Semi-Private Patients during the admission process and ensure all relevant documentation is completed. Liaising with internal and external auditors and ensuring that controls and checks are put in place to address any recommendations. Contribute to the efficient operation of the Patient Accounts section through recommending new or improved procedures. Assist in the maintenance and control of the Claimsure and IPMS software system and provide ad hoc financial and operationalreports as required. Undertake projects for the Operations Manager as required. Qualifications and Experience: Essential: Working knowledge of Private Patient charges and pathways. Excellent interpersonal and customer services skills including the ability to work as a team member. The ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders. Qualities of integrity and diplomacy, with the ability to discuss sensitive matters with confidence with patients and staff. Desirable: Experience in a similar role in the Health Sector. Experience using IPMS and Claimsure Software. Previous experience working in a similar role in the Health Sector And Have satisfactory experience in an office under the HSE, TUSLA, other statutory health agencies, or a body which provides services on behalf of the HSE under Section 38 of the Health Act 2004 at a level not lower than that of Grade IV (or equivalent). Or Have obtained a pass (Grade D) in at least five subjects from the approved list of subjects in the Department of Education Leaving Certificate Examination, including Mathematics and English or Irish1. Candidates should have obtained at least Grade C on higher level papers in three subjects in that examination. Or Have completed a relevant examination at a comparable standard in any equivalent examination in another jurisdiction. Or Hold a comparable and relevant third level qualification of at least level 6 on the National Qualifications Framework maintained by Qualifications and Quality Ireland, (QQI). * *Candidates must achieve a pass in Ordinary or Higher level papers. A pass in a foundation level paper is not acceptable. Candidates must have achieved these grades on the Leaving Certificate Established programme or the Leaving Certificate Vocational programme. And, Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability, for the proper discharge of the office. Skills, competencies and/or knowledge Excellent IT skills including MS Office and database systems. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work on own initiative. Excellent time management skills.
