Job Overview

The role of a Member Services Officer is multifaceted, requiring an individual with exceptional interpersonal skills to provide top-notch support to members. This position plays a vital part in the smooth operation of the service hub, ensuring that all members receive timely and efficient assistance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process digital membership applications and handle member queries via phone and online channels with precision and attention to detail.
  • Assist with digital current account applications, providing ongoing support to account holders, and ensuring seamless transactions.
  • Manage and process electronic payment files to guarantee uninterrupted transactions.
  • Handle all online and email correspondence from members effectively, prioritizing efficiency and courtesy.
  • Oversight of deceased account and account transfer processes necessitates sensitivity and accuracy.
  • Respond to external membership inquiries and process card payments over the phone with professionalism.
  • Perform general administrative tasks to support the operational efficiency of the service hub.
  • Collaborate with management in developing and implementing new technologies or services to enhance the member experience.
  • Maintain awareness of relevant procedures, legislation, and regulations governing Credit Union operations.
  • Comply with Health & Safety regulations as directed by management.
  • Undertake other reasonable and lawful duties assigned by management.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Possess a QFA or APA qualification, or be willing to obtain it if not already held.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for engaging effectively with members and colleagues.
  • Be a collaborative team player with a proactive, can-do attitude, taking initiative when needed.
  • Display a customer-focused approach with a friendly, professional, and helpful demeanor at all times.
  • Demonstrate exceptional accuracy and attention to detail; deliver high-quality work.
  • Ability to work under pressure while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Be self-motivated and able to work independently; take initiative when required.
  • Adapt to changing business needs.
  • Minimum education: Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess situations and find effective solutions.
  • At least 12 months of work experience in a team-oriented environment.
