Job Overview

We are currently recruiting a Support Assistant to join our team in Navan, Co. Meath. As a key member of our early years setting, you will play a vital role in supporting children with additional needs to participate fully in their education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with children, families, and educational staff to promote an inclusive learning environment that caters to diverse needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans to support the academic, social, and emotional growth of children with additional needs.
  • Work closely with external support professionals to design and implement strategies that foster the child's development and progress.
  • Engage in regular communication with parents and guardians to ensure they are informed about their child's progress and development.
  • Contribute to creating a culture of inclusivity and respect within the organization.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • A minimum of FETAC / QQI Level 5 in Childcare or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience working with children in an early years setting.
  • Understanding of Access and Inclusion Model (AIM) principles and practices.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build relationships with colleagues, children, and families.
  • A passion for working with children with additional needs and a commitment to delivering high-quality support services.
  • Knowledge of child protection policies and procedures.
