Job Summary

The Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer will lead collaboration with suppliers to ensure their barcode readiness, review and approve supplier product approval processes (PPAPs), and verify that supplier marking systems meet medical device regulation (MDR) durability and traceability standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the supplier engagement process related to barcode readiness, including kick-off meetings and implementation tracking.
  • Review and approve supplier PPAPs, barcode validation evidence, and change notifications.
  • Verify that supplier marking systems meet MDR durability and traceability criteria.
  • Coordinate the resolution of non-conformities (NCs), change control, and inventory disposition workflows.
  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing engineering and quality engineering teams to ensure that supplier deliverables align with internal barcode standards and project milestones.
Collaboration:
  • Manufacturing Engineering – to confirm technical specifications and equipment/process readiness at suppliers.
  • Quality Engineering – for PPAP/first article inspection (FAI) review, risk assessments, and issue escalation.
  • Regulatory Affairs – for MDR-related documentation checks and supplier traceability.
  • Supply Chain / Planning – for coordination on supplier schedules, purchase order releases, and material disposition.
  • Operations / Receiving Inspection – to confirm readiness to inspect and verify barcode compliance at incoming goods.
  • Project Management (PMO) – to align timelines, identify risks, and manage cross-functional handoffs.
  • Information Technology / Supplier Portals – where applicable, for document submission or traceability in supplier systems.
  • Divisional Supply Quality / Business Teams – for supplier escalation paths, audit preparation, and governance reviews.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Systems: OnePLM, Trackwise, Supplier Lifecycle Management System (SLMS), Global Item Master (GIM).
  • Processes: PPAP, supplier readiness, NC/CAPA, barcode traceability, supplier audit response.
  • Standards: EU MDR, ISO 13485, Unique Device Identification (UDI) supplier integration.
  • Competencies: Self-directed, supplier-savvy, able to manage external/internal alignment, fast-paced readiness executor.
