Senior Merger Review Professional

The Mergers Division of a government agency seeks a senior professional to lead their merger review teams.
As Deputy Director, you will oversee the delivery of merger reviews, ensuring timely and efficient completion of complex cases. You will also provide strategic direction to the division, representing the agency at national and international forums and conferences. This role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and experience in merger control.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Assisting the Director of Mergers in strategic management and administration of the division
- Delivering on the division's objectives by providing professional inputs
- Managing multiple complex cases with competing priorities
- Leading merger review teams to ensure operational effectiveness and drive team performance
This role requires a third-level qualification in Law, Economics, Business, or a related discipline, and at least 4 years' experience leading and managing people/projects in a legal, economic, regulatory, compliance, and/or enforcement area. Relevant qualifications and experience above the essential requirements are desirable.
In this challenging role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of merger policies and practices that promote fair competition and protect consumer interests. You will work closely with other stakeholders to achieve the division's objectives, including representatives from industry, academia, and civil society.
