Job Description:

The role of an Audit and Accounts Assistant is a crucial part of ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial processes. The successful candidate will work closely with senior team members to plan, execute, and complete audit assignments for various clients.


Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the planning, execution, and completion of audit assignments.
  • Conduct detailed testing of financial records, transactions, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
  • Prepare audit documentation and financial statements in accordance with established procedures and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to gather necessary information and address inquiries during the audit process.
  • Assist in the preparation of corporate tax returns, VAT returns, and other regulatory filings.
  • Support senior accountants in the review and analysis of financial data, identifying areas for improvement and recommending solutions.
  • Maintain organised files and records, ensuring documentation is accurate, complete, and easily accessible.
  • Stay informed about changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices, and apply this knowledge to daily tasks.
  • Provide administrative support to the accounting team, including data entry, invoice processing, and other ad-hoc duties as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Working towards completion of professional exams (ACCA/ACA).
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and auditing techniques.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize workload effectively to meet deadlines.
