About the Role

PFH Technology is seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our IT team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance services to our clients.

The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, a strong understanding of IT hardware and software, and excellent communication skills. They will also have experience in Windows 10 and 11 installations, Active Directory, and troubleshooting software faults.

Responsibilities
  • Establish and build on good working relationships with customers.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hardware faults, referring complex issues to third-party experts as necessary.
  • Assign warranties on hardware to third parties where appropriate.
  • Perform system administration tasks using Active Directory.
  • Troubleshoot issues with Windows accounts and mailboxes.
  • Diagnose and solve software faults, including Citrix issues.
  • Install and configure computer hardware, peripherals, operating systems, and applications.
  • Manage pst requests and data requests for staff moves.
  • Liaise with third-party vendors for software and hardware installation.
  • Deal with 'how to' and information requests, including data security and ICT policies.
  • Liaise with local and national ICT teams to find root causes for recurring issues.
  • Document new solutions.
  • Install individual software requests.
  • Managed print devices - liaise with vendors, including IP information.
Requirements
  • 1 year's experience in an IT hardware environment, with experience in Windows 10 and 11 installations.
  • Good problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to empathize with users and help them adapt to new technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate experience of having an excellent working knowledge of the full Microsoft Office suite and report writing.
  • Demonstrate evidence of producing quality deliverables.
  • Business Competencies: Excellent written and oral communication skills, excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, proven ability to organize work in an organized manner, self-starter with a willingness to take responsibility, ability to interact with key stakeholders in a professional manner.
  • Third Level Education Qualification is preferable.
