We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team in Galway.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating various aspects of haemodialysis service, ensuring the highest standards of patient care are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage patient care using evidence-based practice and care planning approach.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate monthly bloods, transplant work up, and follow-up for haemodialysis patients.
- Provide information and specialist advice to patients on haemodialysis, selecting and developing appropriate literature and support networks.
- Be involved in infection control and health promotion of the haemodialysis population.
- Take responsibility for managing defined areas and their planned care in association with the multi-disciplinary team.
- Commence transplant work-up and evaluations, liaise with the medical team regarding having suitable patients placed on the transplant pool.
Clinical Focus:
- Ensure patient care meets the highest standards through evidence-based practice and care planning.
- Assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of monthly bloods, transplant work up, and follow-up for haemodialysis patients.
- Provide information and specialist advice to patients on haemodialysis, selecting and developing appropriate literature and support networks.
- Involve in infection control and health promotion of the haemodialysis population.
Requirements:
- A qualification to degree level in Nursing and registered with NMBI.
- Postgraduate Diploma in Renal Nursing.
- Strong planning, organisation, and work prioritisation skills.
- Excellent relationship and interpersonal skills.
- Strong administrative and IT skills.
- Eligible to work in Ireland.
Working Conditions:
This is a 12-month maternity contract leave role initially. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and organisational skills.
