Estimator and Bid Manager

Portakabin is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Estimator and Bid Manager to join our commercial team in Dublin. As a Senior Estimator and Bid Manager, you will lead and develop professional excellence in the estimating function in support of Sales and Hire within the Irish Business Unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage cost estimation processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of all estimates.
  • Implement quality control procedures to ensure that all bid submissions are of the highest standard.
  • Provide a full and professional estimating service to support the Commercial leads in defining Scope of Modular Hire Projects.
  • Understand and lead cost and margin calculations.
  • Develop comprehensive Bid Documentation, Project BOQs and Budgets.
  • Evaluate contractor and supplier bids and deliver category awards.
  • Lead or contribute to value engineering exercises to optimise project costs without compromising quality or performance.
  • Support the procurement process by preparing cost estimates, derogations lists and leading Contract Analysis.

Requirements:

  • Hold a relevant degree, or Design or Technical Qualification, however relevant experience is more important.
  • Extensive experience in estimating, bidding and order negotiation within Construction.
  • Excellent level of understanding and application of costs, mark-ups and margins.
  • Experience managing subcontractors.
  • Experience in leading, managing, developing, and motivating teams.
