Job Description:

Our organisation is seeking a highly skilled energy pricing specialist to support our continued expansion into the commercial and residential energy supply sector. As a key member of our hedging, pricing and trading team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our success.


To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in a quantitative subject such as engineering, mathematics, finance/economics, or the sciences. At least 2-4 years' work experience in the industry is desired for the role, with any gas and electricity pricing or trading experience being highly advantageous.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement residential electricity, gas, and heat prices and tariffs
  • Conduct competitor analysis and provide insights on the market we operate in
  • Work with our hedging team to manage and report on price risk
  • Support the day-to-day trading activities of the company by training as a member of our trading team
  • Collaborate with management to produce reports on our commercial activities and exposures
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in electricity pricing in the Irish retail market and the ability to build up a 24hr residential tariff from first principles is essential
  • Be resourceful and proactive
  • Strong problem-solving, analysis, and attention to detail skills
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong data handling and programming skills are highly desirable with some experience in tools such as Python, SQL, and Tableau

You will be responsible for designing and implementing electricity, gas, and heat tariffs for our customer base and leading the development of hedge strategies. You will also be expected to provide best-in-class analysis of the markets we operate in.
