Electricity Pricing Specialist Job Opportunity

We are expanding our team to support continued growth in the commercial & residential energy supply sector.

This role involves leading and supporting production of residential electricity, gas, and heat prices and tariffs. The successful candidate will conduct competitor analysis and understand the market we operate in, work with the hedging team to manage and report on price risk, assist in day-to-day trading activities, and produce tools to automate new or existing business processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement pricing strategies for residential electricity, gas, and heat tariffs
  2. Conduct market research and analysis to stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitor activity
  3. Collaborate with the hedging team to identify and mitigate price risks
  4. Support the trading team with day-to-day activities and contribute to the development of new trading strategies
Requirements:
  • Third-level degree in a quantitative subject (e.g. engineering, mathematics, finance/economics, sciences)
  • At least 2-4 years' experience in industry, preferably in gas and electricity pricing/trading
  • Knowledge of building up residential tariff from costs of sale components and understanding profitability
  • Awareness of competitive landscape in retail electricity and gas markets and broad understanding of energy commodity risk environment
Desirable Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving, analysis and attention to detail
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong data handling & programming skills (Python, SQL, Tableau)
  • Clear, concise and structured communication
  • Adaptable and flexible with ability to change priorities
