Purchasing Manager Role

Our company is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all commercial aspects within the portfolio, including strategy development and implementation, market insight, range management, supply chain considerations, inventory management, cost optimisation, price optimisation, performance management, supplier management, customer engagement, and team collaboration.

  • Job Description
    • We are a leading wholesaler of hardware, steel, wire, agricultural plastics, salt, bathroom supplies, and plumbing materials, with a strong focus on quality, expertise, and commitment.
    • As a Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for managing product ranges within the portfolio, ensuring a competitive and innovative assortment.
    • You will also be responsible for internal procurement processes, including sales history, forecasting demand, purchase requisitions, stock purchase orders, and stock transfers.
    • Additionally, you will need to consider supply-chain factors such as capacity, constraints, lead times, and delivery schedules to ensure material requirements are met on time and in full.
  • Required Skills and Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, or a related field.
    • Strong commercial acumen, with at least three years' experience in wholesale or retail industries, preferably in the Irish market.
    • Proven experience in procurement, including negotiation, with a focus on optimising costs while building and maintaining successful supplier relationships.
    • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and market trends.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, and experience with purchasing platforms and ERP systems.
