Job Title

We are seeking an experienced Fire Protection Specialist to manage the execution of fire protection systems on our construction projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for owning project execution, managing changes, and reporting to the Operations Manager. They will also set specific goals for their elements of the project, aligning with overall project objectives.

This is a challenging role that requires strong leadership skills, experience in fire protection, and a deep understanding of construction project implementation.

Responsibilities
  • Establish detailed scope for the project
  • Manage project changes with a verifiable paper trail
  • Own all scope related to fire protection
  • Ensure work is planned and executed in alignment with the programme schedule
  • Work with design teams to ensure materials, designs, and equipment are available ahead of need
  • Drive weekly and daily work plans
  • Ensure all changes are costed and approved before work commences
  • Collaborate with planners to develop a schedule meeting client needs
  • Understand scope in detail and have a thorough understanding of design
  • Clarify design deliverables and ensure design schedules are met
  • Own Fire Protection Team's schedule and work with planners to develop Last Planner level of detail
  • Ensure foremen and supervisors understand change processes and manage changes accordingly
  • Manage hours allocation to achieve maximum S/E of 0.95
  • Manage and control internal and external project reporting
  • Aim for greater than 99% first-time right across all works
  • Ensure all personnel have required training to deliver project requirements
  • Model safety in all aspects of work and lead by example through leadership team
  • Demonstrate project controls knowledge across start-up, ramp, execution, ramp-down, and change control
  • Report quality and safety indicators in line with programme indicators
Requirements
  • 5–7 years of experience with a recognised contractor and multi-disciplinary construction teams
  • Trade and/or relevant third-level qualification in mechanical discipline
  • Sprinkler and fire protection experience is required
  • Experience delivering construction projects in specialised industrial sectors
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety
  • Proven ability to contribute to the development of project implementation for construction projects
