Job Overview

The SHEQ Officer is responsible for supporting the safety, health, and environmental systems across two busy industrial sites. This role requires a high degree of coordination and administrative skills to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records and manage all related documentation in line with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 requirements.
  • Coordinate internal audits, risk assessments, and accident investigations to identify areas for improvement.
  • Deliver safety inductions and basic training for new staff and visitors to ensure they are aware of site-specific hazards and procedures.
  • Manage training and preventative maintenance systems to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
  • Support ISO compliance by reviewing Safety Data Sheets, tracking corrective actions, and updating MAI systems as required.
  • Order necessary materials, PPE, first aid kits, and labels in a timely manner to maintain site operations.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle records (ADR, CVRT, driver training and data) and prepare regular reports on SHEQ KPIs.
  • Collaborate with customer service and production teams to ensure certification, inspections, and documentation are up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline such as business administration, safety management, or environmental science.
  • Previous experience in a similar SHEQ role with a strong understanding of relevant standards and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and sites.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and able to learn new software packages quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving approach with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing site needs and priorities while maintaining a focus on SHEQ excellence.
  • Full driving licence preferred but not essential.
