EHS Specialist Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced EHS Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring construction activities are carried out safely and in compliance with all relevant regulatory and corporate EHS requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage the Permit to Work system to ensure seamless execution of construction activities.
  • Ensure strict compliance with EHS regulations related to PSCS/PSDP responsibilities for construction activities.
  • Deliver comprehensive EHS inductions to contractors and project personnel to enhance their knowledge and awareness.
  • Review and approve Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) to identify potential hazards and implement control measures.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate EHS reports, records, and statistics to inform decision-making.
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of EHS management systems, policies, and procedures to drive excellence.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and monitor the implementation of control measures to minimize risks.
  • Monitor compliance with legislative and corporate EHS standards, ensuring readiness for internal and external audits.
  • Assist in the development and coordination of emergency response procedures to ensure effective response to unexpected events.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant third-level qualification in Occupational Health & Safety and/or Environmental discipline.
  • Minimum 3–5 years' experience in an EHS role, preferably in a construction environment within the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical sector.
  • Strong working knowledge of Irish EHS legislation, especially related to construction projects.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to engage with contractors and stakeholders across multidisciplinary teams.
