Job Title:

IT Operations Manager

An IT operations manager is a critical role that oversees the day-to-day functioning of an organization's IT infrastructure. As an IT operations manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of systems, networks, and infrastructure.

About This Role:

  • This role involves overseeing the technical support and training of staff, as well as supervising all IT security aspects of the business.
  • You will also be responsible for preparing and maintaining appropriate procedures and policies, balancing technological and capacity resources to meet company and employee needs.
  • A key aspect of this role is ensuring all technology practices adhere to regulatory and security standards.
  • You will work closely with the IT team to develop and implement IT policy and best practice guides for the organisation.
  • The role requires providing direction for team members, mentoring and training them, and adhering to strict IT policies and standards.
  • Additionally, you will run and share regular operation system reports with the IT Manager and deliver ad-hoc unplanned changes.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years experience in IT with a strong background in day-to-day IT operational management - covering Infrastructure, Systems, Networks, Active Directory, Cloud Services, Data and IT operations.
  • Operational experience in Key Infrastructure Technologies such as Firewalls, Switches, Storage, Virtual software and Servers (Windows).
  • Experience/knowledge in IT security.
  • Working knowledge of cloud technologies.
  • Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and phone systems.
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices.
  • Networking.
  • Knowledge of SQL and databases.

  • Diploma/degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
