About You

We are seeking an experienced and professional Boutique Hotel Front Desk Manager to join our front-of-house team at Langtons Hotel Kilkenny. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of six receptionists, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the front desk, and ensuring that all procedures are adhered to across all functions.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership and team management, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure. If you have a passion for hospitality and a natural ability to lead, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example, delivering outstanding customer service at all times.
  • Oversee the reception team, ensuring smooth check-ins, check-outs, and guest interactions.
  • Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally and efficiently.
  • Maintain a strong presence in the lobby, assisting guests and supporting the team as needed.
  • Ensure the front desk is always well-presented, organised, and running efficiently.
  • Manage, train, and mentor a team of six receptionists, ensuring high performance and motivation.
  • Schedule shifts and ensure adequate front desk coverage at all times.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to provide updates, feedback, and training.
  • Assist in recruiting and onboarding new reception staff as needed.
  • Ensure that all procedures are adhered to across all functions.
  • Work closely with housekeeping, maintenance, reservations, and F&B teams to ensure seamless guest experiences.
  • Communicate guest preferences, special requests, and VIP arrivals to relevant departments.
  • Coordinate with accounts for billing queries, payments, and invoicing.

Administrative & Systems Management:

  • Oversee reservations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in bookings.
  • Monitor and update the property management system (PMS) and other front desk software.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations.
  • Generate reports on occupancy, revenue, and guest feedback for management review.
