
Advanced Technical Support Specialist

The role of the Engineering Technician 2 is a pivotal position within our organization, responsible for providing technical support to equipment engineers in the improvement, installation, validation and transfer of replicate custom automated equipment used in the scale-up of manufacturing for existing or new products.
This entails supporting cross-functional equipment deployment teams while working with outside suppliers to meet equipment specifications and timelines. The successful candidate will be required to work with schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and troubleshooting functions.
Key responsibilities include testing the performance of electro-mechanical assemblies using test equipment, operating, testing, or maintaining robotic equipment and vision systems, analyzing and recording test results, and preparing written documentation.
Additional duties include performing operational tests and fault isolation on automated systems and equipment, carrying out activities in equipment development under the supervision of the project engineer, and assuming other duties as assigned.
As an integral member of our team, you will be expected to follow our Safety and Lock Out/Tag out (LOTO) program and update equipment-related documentations as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications- Typically requires a Level 6/7 qualification and a minimum of 4 years of related experience
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical documents related to equipment specifications
- Ability to write routine reports, pass downs, and correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, engineers, and managers
- Knowledge and experience with PLC and Automated production/process equipment, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Electro/Mechanical systems, Resistance welders, Packaging equipment highly desirable
