Job Title: Child Care Specialist

Description:

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated professional to work one on one with a child with various disabilities in their own home.

The ideal candidate would have pediatric experience working individually with children in their own homes and be capable of working independently, taking initiative, and adapting to changing situations.

  • Medication administration and management
  • Seizure management, including the administration of buccal midazolam as needed
  • Nebulizer management
  • Pain management
  • Care and support for children with complex needs or disabilities
  • Airway management and suctioning
  • Stoma care management
  • Moving and handling, including hoist and re-positioning
  • Skin integrity management
  • Professional boundaries and confidentiality
  • Working in a home environment as a lone worker
  • Infection control and disposal of clinical waste
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
Requirements:
  • An active and current nursing registration pin
  • Previous experience working with children is essential
  • Willingness to undergo any required training
  • All nurses must complete Garda Vetting
  • Nurses must register with the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) or an affiliated union
  • Full immunization and vaccination history will be required
  • A full clean driving license is desirable
