Maintenance Operations Leader

Job Summary:


  • Lead a team of maintenance technicians to ensure the efficient execution of duties supporting production and building operations.
  • Develop and implement routine and preventive maintenance programs for all machinery and equipment according to established schedules.
  • Maintain all internal building systems (electrical, plumbing, compressed air, etc.) to optimize performance and minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate planned downtime with relevant departments and manage related documentation and activities.
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager to develop and maintain a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures; review and implement updates with the H&S Department.
  • Recruit, interview, and hire maintenance team members in conjunction with HR.
  • Manage employee adherence to company policies and procedures; handle disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain discipline, morale, and harmonious personnel relations within the team.
  • Coach and motivate team members through performance management and training development plans.
  • Oversee the installation of equipment and machinery to ensure smooth operation.
  • Source and procure parts and supplies required for maintenance activities.
  • Negotiate and manage contractor and vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with procedures and contract terms.
  • Promote continuous improvement and innovation within the maintenance function.
  • Attend relevant training, classes, or seminars to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:


  • 3rd level qualification in Engineering, Maintenance, or related discipline (Diploma, Trade qualification, etc.).
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient and confident in using computer systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with mechanics and pneumatics.
  • Full B Driving Licence.
