The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Architect to support the implementation of robust cybersecurity technologies and services across the organisation.
In this role, you will lead large-scale security projects, ensuring the effective deployment of cutting-edge solutions to safeguard critical healthcare systems.
You will provide expert security architecture and design support, collaborating with stakeholders to enhance resilience and mitigate cyber risks, ensuring HSE remains protected against evolving threats.
Responsibilities
Design and implement cybersecurity architectures that align with HSE's operational needs and risk posture.
Lead large-scale security technology deployments like endpoint protection, cloud security, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
Develop secure system designs that enhance resilience against cyber threats.
Provide technical expertise for selecting and implementing cybersecurity solutions, including managed detection and response services, extended detection and response solutions, and SIEM/ SOC technologies.
Ensure security is embedded in digital transformation projects, minimising risks from new technologies.
Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to establish best practices in cybersecurity architecture.
Conduct security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
Develop security guidelines and technical standards to ensure consistent protection across HSE systems.
Implement network security measures, including segmentation and access controls.
Enhance cloud security frameworks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Lead incident response planning and support, strengthening HSE's ability to handle cyber threats.
Enhance identity and access management (IAM), Privileged Access Management (PAM) practices to protect healthcare data.
Drive security automation initiatives, improving efficiency in threat detection and response.
Advise on secure software development practices, minimising vulnerabilities in applications.
Monitor and evaluate emerging cybersecurity technologies, recommending solutions for adoption.
Oversee security operations improvements, optimising monitoring, detection, and response capabilities.
Support compliance with regulatory frameworks, including NIS 2 and GDPR.
Strengthen security awareness and training programmes to improve staff knowledge of best practices.
Maintain detailed security architecture documentation, ensuring standardisation and clarity.
Engage with external cybersecurity partners, collaborating on threat intelligence and defence strategies.
