Our client The Land Development Agency (LDA) is a key Government Commercial Semi-State Body that delivers social and affordable housing on State and other lands. It is overseen by an independent board of directors and is funded with â¬3.75 billion of equity capital committed by the Government. It is also permitted to borrow up to â¬1.25bn

The LDA has commenced construction on various state sourced lands and is currently working on about 20 direct delivery projects that can deliver over 8,000 homes. It is also delivering affordable housing by working with private sector on an initiative called âProject Tosaighâ, which will yield a further 5,000 homes on land provided by housebuilders.

Additionally, the LDA is working on large-scale longer-term strategic areas by master-planning and bringing forward planning applications in locations such as Limerick Colbert Quarter, the Digital Hub in Dublin and Sandy Road in Galway.

Role Purpose

Assisting with the conveyancing process of new build affordable housing homes to nominated purchasers. The role will require a self starter with a high level of attention-to-detail, organisation and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with legal advisors, property advisors, local authorities, design team members, financial institutions, affordable purchasers or renters and other professionals / third party service providers to advance the conveyancing and rental of units.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding specific portfolios/projects/ units in a timely and professional manner.
  • Management of both internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinating with developers, Local Authorities and legal advisors and purchasers to progress sales and complete necessary documentation.
  • Robust document management and maintenance of sales checklists, contract and rental registers.
  • Preparation of tax, utility and service charge apportionment calculations.
  • Liaising with stakeholders re snagging and completion.
  • Compilation of closing documents and fulfilment of closing requirements. 
  • Maintenance and delivery of accurate and robust MI.
  • Preparations of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements.
  • Ad hoc projects and tasks as they arise.

Experience & Personal Attributes

  • Third level qualification.
  • 1-2 years previous experience working in conveyancing, real estate, legal services, construction, or relevant finance fields desirable.
  • Understanding of typical legal processes in conveyancing preferable.
  • A self-starter with excellent organisational skills, communication skills and an ability to multitask is essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, in particular Microsoft Excel & Word.
  • High level of Interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with multiple stakeholders.
  • Previous experience in handling confidential and commercially sensitive information.
  • A strong work ethic with an ability to meet regular and tight deadlines.
