Our client the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) is seeking a Learning and Development Executive.

Division Overview

The CCPC recognises that our people are at the heart of what we do, and we support this through the services and supports provided by our HR Division (HRD). The HR Division sits at the heart of the CCPC and is valued as a respected business partner to all Divisions. It is a dynamic team with responsibility for the successful delivery of the CCPC's Organisational Development and People Strategies. The HRD team supports and enables high performance and a positive people culture.

The Role:

This role is an integral part of the Learning and Development (L&D) team by efficiently managing administrative aspects related to training programs. This includes handling bookings, scheduling, database management, materials preparation, evaluation, and budget tracking.

The Successful Candidate:

The Learning & Development Executive plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth L&D operations. To be successful as a Learning & Development Executive, one should possess the following key skills and qualities:


• Attention to Detail:

o Being responsible, honest, and reliable with excellent attention to detail is crucial. You will handle

administrative tasks that require precision and accuracy.


• Administrative Support:

o A proven track record in providing administration support in a busy office environment is essential.

This includes multitasking effectively and meeting deadlines.


Communication Skills:

o Strong verbal and written communication skills are vital. You will interact with colleagues and stakeholders, so being comfortable to manage requests is important. The successful candidate will also be required to guide training sessions or workshops to ensure effective learning and participant engagement.


• Technological Proficiency:

o Given the rise of digital learning platforms, familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) will be beneficial.

o The ability to edit and record online learning events and on occasion create e-learning courses will be required.

Key Responsibilities:


• Lead on the delivery of specific internal workshops, record and edit post-production videos, distribute end of session evaluations ensuring engagement by use of best practice L&D methodologies


• Collaborate with the L&D Specialist to develop eLearning courses based on identified learning needs using specialist content creation software and video editing software e.g. Articulate 360


• Support the integration project and the ongoing maintenance of a new Learning Management System (LMS)


• Assist with the ongoing administration of the Learning Management System


• Provide administrative support to instructors and CCPC employees in accessing and effectively using the LMS


• Apply best practice GDPR principles to all aspects of data handling and communication


• Support the L&D Specialist to manage the CCPC Advance of Fees (Higher Education Support) scheme


• Compile, design, maintain and distribute L&D metrics and reports as requested


• Communicate L&D information through appropriate channels


• Proactively research and propose uses of technology or existing applications to improve the quality and efficiency of L&D services


• Minute and note taking at meetings as required


• Assisting the L&D Specialist in the procurement of L&D related service providers including purchase order and invoice tracking


• Compile L&D requests from the performance management system

Essential:


• A relevant third level qualification at a minimum of level 7 on the Irish National Framework of Qualifications


• Minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in a L&D role


• Experience in leading the delivery of organisational-wide training to include all aspects of training administration


• Experience in presenting to large groups in-person and online, in a corporate setting


• Experience of using digital course development tools, for example: Articulate or iSpring


• Experience of setting up, recording and postproduction editing of online and live training events

Desirable:


• Train the Trainer or equivalent qualification


• CIPD or L&DI membership


• Experience of assisting with event management


• Knowledge of public sector procurement processes


• Proficiency in taking accurate notes
