Job Role Overview:

As a seasoned developer, we're seeking a skilled Tools Programmer to join our team at Larian Studios. This individual will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining high-quality tools that support the development of our games.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining all development tools
  • Designing and implementing user interfaces
  • Identifying and solving problems in content creation workflows and pipelines
  • Engaging with narrative tools across departments such as writing, scripting and cinematics
  • Working with a multi-disciplinary team to implement new engine and editor features
  • Driving feature development and finding the best solutions for new engine and tools features
  • Communicating openly and regularly with team members and stakeholders
  • Representing the team and its ideals in day-to-day communication
  • Acting as a role model and mentor for fellow team members

Essential Requirements include:

  • 5+ years of experience creating tools for game development
  • Shipped game titles
  • Excellent C# and .NET skills for desktop applications
  • A deep understanding of WPF and XAML
  • Experience with UI/UX and tool design
  • Thorough C++ knowledge
  • Open-minded and willing to iterate on a feature based on feedback
  • The ability to analyze and understand workflows of other disciplines
  • Fluent written and spoken English

Nice to Have Features include:

  • Familiarity with Python
  • Experience developing DCC pipelines
  • Experience writing plugins/tools for Maya/Blender
