Job Description

We are seeking an ambitious energy pricing analyst to join our team of energy and commodity market experts. As part of our expansion into the commercial & residential energy supply sector, this role will be instrumental in supporting our continued growth.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of electricity pricing in the Irish retail market and be able to build up a 24hr residential tariff from first principles. They will also possess excellent problem solving, analysis and attention to detail skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

A key responsibility of this role will be to design electricity, gas and heat tariffs for our customer base and take the lead in implementing, tracking and trading hedge strategies. The candidate will also work closely with our hedging team to manage and report on price risk.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement residential electricity, gas and heat prices and tariffs
  • Conduct competitor analysis and provide market insights
  • Manage and report on price risk
  • Assist in day-to-day trading activities
  • Produce tools to help automate business processes
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A third-level degree in a quantitative subject such as engineering, mathematics, finance/economics or sciences
  • At least 2-4 years' work experience in the industry, preferably in electricity pricing or trading
  • Strong data handling and programming skills, with experience in tools such as Python, SQL and Tableau
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
