
Pharmaceutical Business Developer

The Head of Business Development role involves driving enterprise business opportunities and building long-term partnerships with pharmaceutical clients. This includes developing strategic relationships, leading negotiations for contracts, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver value to pharmaceutical companies.
Key Responsibilities- Develop business strategies and relationships with pharmaceutical companies across Patient Access, Medical Affairs, Health Outcomes, Commercial Excellence, Marketing, and Policy teams.
- Cultivate existing client relationships while identifying new opportunities to expand the client base in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.
- Identify and develop new strategic relationships and market directions to extend the company's reach within the pharmaceutical sector beyond existing clients.
- Lead contract negotiations covering consulting services, fixed-price development, and managed services agreements.
- Collaborate with expert consultants in areas such as Digital & Cloud Automation, Application Modernisation, and AI-driven solutions tailored to pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors.
- Assist in developing and executing strategic marketing campaigns and events to showcase solutions for Pharma & Healthcare challenges.
- Coordinate with the Tender Bid team to create compelling proposals and tender responses based on client engagements.
- Travel throughout Ireland and Europe to cultivate client relationships is a key requirement.
- Minimum of 8 years' relevant experience in roles focused on pharmaceutical and healthcare markets (e.g., professional services sales, patient advocacy, market access, medical affairs, health policy, or commercial excellence).
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with senior executives in the Pharmaceutical & Healthcare sectors.
- Track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets in a competitive environment.
- Constructive sales approach grounded in transparency and trust.
- Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry's regulatory, operational, and digital transformation challenges and opportunities.
- High-level understanding of digital technologies in healthcare (analytics dashboards, AI-driven patient engagement) is beneficial; detailed technical knowledge not required.
- Ability to articulate success stories and translate technical solutions into business value for clients.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong negotiation, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Technical teams to deliver value to clients.
- Ability to maximize the quality and flow of information from customers to support sales and tender processes.
- Must be an EU passport holder.
- Willingness to travel to meet pharmaceutical clients across Ireland and Europe.
