Clinical Nurse Manager

Job Description:

As a Clinical Nurse Manager, you will lead and implement change with particular reference to HIQA standards. You will demonstrate leadership, innovation, and creativity in work with staff and residents.

The role involves carrying out and supervising audits of all aspects of nursing care, including medication management, daily spot checks, and supervision of new resident receptions.

A key responsibility is assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care needed to address physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs of residents in accordance with their preferences.

You will provide support and supervision to care and nursing staff, including orientation, training, and development, task allocation, guidance, motivation, monitoring, and evaluation of performance.

Maintaining a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors is also a critical aspect of the role, as is participating in daily resident hand-over to ensure excellent communication between all caring staff.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Nursing experience: Minimum 2 years in nursing home in Ireland with minimum of 5 years nursing experience (to include overseas)
  • Management Experience: Preferably has SSN or CNM experience already but not essential as can be trained into this role
  • Communication skills: Good clearly understandable English
  • Speciality: an interest in a particular area of nursing with courses undertaken: eg gerontology, infection control, dementia
  • Experience working in nursing homes essential for this role
  • A valid NMBI PIN is required
