Water Resources Manager Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Resources Manager to lead our water resource management projects.

  • Deliver hydrological and hydraulic modelling, drainage and flood mitigation, and climate impact assessment services.
  • Manage projects and client relationships, assist with winning new business within the water environment team.
  • Provide technical guidance, support and training to junior colleagues.

The ideal candidate will have skills in hydraulic and hydrological Modelling, data management, analysis, and presentation of results.

A strong understanding of Flood Risk Assessments, Hydraulic Modelling, Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS), and green-blue infrastructure planning is essential.

Chartered (or near Chartership) with an appropriate professional body and experience in managing, training and mentoring junior staff is desirable.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to various projects, enhancing the resilience of the public water supply, reducing the impact of wastewater treatment infrastructure on the water environment, and implementing nature-based solutions.

They will work closely with a friendly team of over 80 Hydrologists, Hydrogeologists, Water Resources Planners and Water Quality Scientists as part of our wider Water Environment Team.

About You:
  • Strong technical experience in hydraulic and hydrological Modelling.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of GIS software (QGIS/ARC), coding (e.g. Python) and database management.
