Job Description:

As a skilled Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely maintenance of plant and equipment. Your expertise will be invaluable in performing preventative maintenance and repair optimal equipment as required by preventative maintenance schedules, identifying areas for improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Equipment Maintenance: Identify and maintain spare parts and tools to ensure smooth operation of plant and equipment.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform regular checks and maintenance tasks to prevent equipment breakdowns.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose issues and implement effective solutions to get equipment up and running quickly.
  • Spare Parts Management: Ensure that all major process' and equipment have adequate spare parts in stock.
  • Support to Production: Provide support to production on a shift basis as required.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously improve production process equipment by identifying and implementing improvement projects that will enhance the operating effectiveness of equipment.

Person Specification:

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Hands-on Experience: Experience of hands-on mechanical and electrical maintenance and troubleshooting of pumps, motors, grinding & milling machines.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge and understanding of various machines with respect to maintenance and repair.
  • Multi-Skilled: Sufficient experience in pneumatic, hydraulics, mechanics, electrics.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with colleagues and management.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex issues.
  • Team Player: Good team member skills to work collaboratively with others.
  • Organisation Skills: Well-organised and able to organise tasks effectively.
