
People Development Lead

This position offers a dynamic, strategic opportunity for an experienced professional to shape and lead internal HR systems. Reporting to the General Manager, you will support a team of 12 staff and up to 200 temporary workers across learning & development, compliance, culture, well-being, legal support, and office operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Employee Development — create onboarding plans, training sessions, and policies that enhance staff performance
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) — maintain, update, and ensure widespread adoption of procedures
- HR Systems and Documentation — manage compliant records, indexes, and policies efficiently
- Audit and Compliance — conduct regular audits, prepare reports, and mitigate HR risks proactively
- Employee Well-being and Engagement — implement initiatives to strengthen culture, retention, and staff support
- HR Strategy — work closely with the General Manager to develop responsive HR strategies across the business
- Complex HR Issues — resolve escalated matters with external advisors as needed
- Recruitment Support — assist in sourcing and onboarding internal hires
- Office Operations — oversee supplies and maintain a well-supported office environment
- Culture and Employer Branding — share company values and story both internally and externally
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in standalone or SME HR roles
- CIPD qualified (or working towards it)
- Excellent interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail
- Proven experience in HR compliance, policy, and employee development
- Bonus: experience working with temporary staffing or agency models
