Job Description

Strategic Commercial Leadership Role

This senior-level commercial management position is an exciting opportunity to lead successful project outcomes, build relationships and maximize commercial returns within a dynamic team.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commercial civils management and leadership, combined with excellent communication and analytical skills. Key responsibilities include cost and value management, identifying unacceptable terms and conditions, and devising innovative systems to control and monitor direct works cost and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with customers, their representatives, and other parties on commercial issues, including agreement of additional monies.
  • Manage cost and value for projects, ensuring appropriate systems and procedures are in place.
  • Identify unacceptable terms and conditions and negotiate contracts with clients and employers.
  • Develop innovative solutions to control and monitor direct works cost and financial performance.
  • Propose actions in response to changes in client and stakeholder needs and expectations.

Requirements

  • Ability to design, implement and manage complex project cost reporting systems, with capacity to interrogate data and identify trends.
  • Facilitate risk management reviews, identify and classify project and business risks, reconcile the interaction of various risks and propose viable solutions.
  • Construct compelling arguments in pursuance of entitlements.
  • Skilled negotiator able to manage and lead negotiating teams in relation to complex projects and secure acceptable commercial results.
  • Manage disputes through any form of dispute resolution process with practical knowledge and understanding of legal techniques.

Qualifications

  • Completed relevant third-level qualification.
  • 15+ years of commercial civils management and leadership experience.
