Job Position: Member Service Officer

Reporting to: Operations Manager

Job Purpose: Ensuring a top-notch member experience through efficient face-to-face, telephone, online, and email service while maintaining service level standards and compliance.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Offer exceptional customer service to Credit Union members and potential new members, resolving queries promptly to minimize escalations.
  • Conduct transactions and counter procedures confidentially and professionally.
  • Process member payments using the computerised accounting system.
  • Manage cash float, balance cash transactions accurately, and adhere to best practices and policies.
  • Handle Loan and Share withdrawals.
  • Collect account opening documentation from new members.
  • Provide additional services like Payzone and Fexco.
  • Maintain a tidy and professional counter area.
  • Perform other daily tasks as instructed by the Office Supervisor.
  • Stay updated on promotions, new products, and services offered by the credit union.
  • Promote a culture that reflects the Credit Union's values and fosters excellent member service.
  • Market Community Credit Union services, educate prospective members on membership benefits.

Required Skills:

  • Prior Credit Union experience or knowledge of the sector is advantageous.
  • QFA qualification is a plus.
  • Member-centric with a track record of delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, good interpersonal skills.
  • Active listening ability to address inquiries effectively.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, with a professional phone etiquette.
  • Adaptable, positive attitude towards change.
  • Effective time and workload management, priority setting.
  • Compliance with policies and procedures.
